Midge Reisman is a native Californian who began painting in her early childhood. She graduated from UCLA in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Advertising Art. She has worked as a graphic artist over the years for advertising agencies and publishers. As a free- lance artist she designed the logos for the City of Lomita and the City of Oxnard. In 2000 she resumed painting and shows her work with the San Fernando Valley Art Club and Mountain Arts Network Gallery. She also raises money for charities by painting pets from owners’ photographs. They are offered in silent & live auctions for groups including Parents Against Leukemia, the Boys & Girls Club, Mountain Bruins, Lake Arrowhead Film Festival, Guide Dogs of America, and Mountains Community Hospital among others.

ARTIST’S STATEMENT: Painting has always been a passion for me, but I took time out to raise my three now grown sons. l do appreciate that I can finally pursue what I love to do. My favorite subjects to paint are people, landscapes, and especially dogs. I enjoy working in different mediums but watercolor fascinates me the most. It’s exciting to create different effects by using wet wash or dry brush techniques.
